I have been married to my husband, Dave, for the past 16 years and have 3 stepchildren, David (age 35) and Robert (age 33), who both live in Maine, and Jessica (age 23) who lives in Milford, CT. Robert also has two children, Luke (age 9) and Isaac (age 7). I don't have any children of my own "per se," unless you consider the "four- legged and furry" kind. I have 2 dogs, Duke and Charlie, and 3 cats, Skidmark, Abigail and Sundance. I even have nicknames for some of my "children"!  My favorite animals, besides dogs and cats, are owls and whales (humpbacks in particular). I have many figurines and pictures throughout my house of different types of owls and whales. My interest in whales actually pointed me to the University of Bridgeport to pursue a degree in Marine Biology. I graduated in 1990 with a BS in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.

My sister, Lynn, is a college professor and her husband, Gunnar, works in research at a college, so I have two very good advocates for my choice of a career in teaching.  I graduated with my MS in Science Education from Southern Connecticut State University in August, 2009 and looking forward to finding a fully certified teaching position!!
